Ashes (A Poem)

I keep too long these things

Much better left forgotten

Atop the mantle my vessels stand

Each a memento beholden

To an aspect of experience, an education

But only one I'll carry with me

To the summit I climb towards

Yet only to scatter with my grief

The ashes of your trust
